Childcare resources at UCSD

UCSD Babysitting Resource Program: Provides a listing of registered UCSD students who do babysitting.

Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC): Offers weekday care for children 3 months to 6 years old, with 5 age-appropriate developmental programs. (There may be waiting lists for all age groups.) The center offers full-time enrollment only. Parents who meet income guidelines may be eligible for subsidized care, and an after-hours program is available.

Mesa Child Development Center: Offers morning or afternoon sessions for preschoolers who are children of UCSD students and employees.

Child care referrals: The Early Childhood Education Center offers referrals to infant/toddler home-care programs, child care centers, and preschool programs.
Lactation accommodation: Learn about UCSD lactation services and policy, and find facilities available to nursing mothers on campus.
Oversight committee: UCSD's Child Care Oversight Committee provides a focus for child care concerns within the campus community.
Resources for faculty and staff who are parents: Link to a collection of resources created especially for UCSD faculty and staff, including youth camps and educational opportunities.
Resources for expectant parents: Find information about disability income, leaves of absence, and a workshop for parents-to-be.

Exceptional Family Resource Center: Offers support, resources, and referrals for parents of special-needs children.
San Diego City Schools "6 to 6" Extended Day Program: Provides elementary and middle school students with academic support and enrichment activities during the hours when many parents are at work.

California Childcare Resource and Referral Network: Gives parents referrals and information about the elements of quality care and state licensing requirements, as well as the availability of child-care subsidies.
State of California Community Care Licensing Division: Provides information on licensing, laws, and finding child care.
