As Chief of Staff, Gillian Hemingway manages the Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor - Academic Affairs, and works in concert with Assistant Vice Chancellor Janice Klippel to ensure the efficient and effective operations of the Senior Vice Chancellor’s Office.

She oversees the support for Senior Vice Chancellor Paul Drake, and interacts with members of the SVCAA's senior management team and the officices of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellors, Deans, Department Chairs, Academic Senate, and UC Office of the President on behalf of the SVCAA. Gillian represents SVC Drake at university and community functions and on Academic Affairs and university committees. She oversees all incoming and outgoing correspondence and action items and works with Executive Assistant Bev Strobl to coordinate preparation for all of SVC Drake’s meetings. She oversees the development and production of reports issued by the SVCAA, and manages faculty development and award programs.
