in the areas of applications development, grid site operations, and
developing a roadmap that satisfies the future needs of an expanding
scientific user community. The candidate is expected to play a key role in
all aspects of our involvement in the Open Science Grid, as well as actively
helping to shape the future of our involvement in distributed computing in
general. Strong technical skills, and an interest in day-to-day operations
of con1puting infrastructure are required in addition to strong written and
verbal skills. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a data intensive science,
e.g. particle physics; postdoctoral experience preferred, or at least 5
years of experience in development and operations of computing
infrastructure in particle physics. Title and level of appointment will be

labeling or targeting to various tissues and organs. In addition to

optimize formulations of emulsions, microbubbles and other novel contrast
agents for specific imaging or therapeutic function. |

the extra-tropical cloud systems and climate feedbacks over the Pacific
Ocean and the role of cloud feedback in the arctic. The successful candidate
will be expected to assist the PI to lead and conduct research focusing on
the radiative forcing of clouds and aerosols (soot and dust) from Asia;
develop a regional model with explicit parameterizations for interactions
between aerosols, clouds and synoptic-scale dynamics, and the feedback
effects of Pacific aerosol-clouds on the past and future climate trends;
develop and write grant proposals to support research.

Applicants must have PhD in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, or related
field, with 3+ years demonstrated experience in climate research.
Postdoctoral experiences documented by publication records are preferred.
Familiarity with aerosol-cloud interactions, cloud dynamics, radiative
transfer, and experience in numerical modeling and/or data analysis of
in-situ measurements and satellite products is required. Also required is
excellent programming skills in Fortran, IDL or other visualization
software. Must be able to work independently and with a multi-disciplinary
international research team, with excellent written and oral communication
skills.

Applications are solicited for an Assistant Project Scientist position at
the Center for Atmospheric Sciences (CAS). Potential candidates should have
a Ph.D. in atmospheric chemistry or a related discipline. A minimum of two
years experience are required after the Ph.D. in experimental research in
one or more of the following areas: aerosol chemistry, infrared
spectroscopy, aerosol mass spectrometry, organic chemistry, cloud-aerosol
physics and chemistry. Experience can be demonstrated via publication
records and experience ill field experiments and instrument development.
Everything being equal, skills and demonstrated experience in measuring
organic particle composition and interpreting results of shipboard,
airborne, and other field measurements are desirable.
The successful candidate will help in the collection and interpretation of
aerosol composition measurements using infrared spectrometry and aerosol
mass spectrometry. Other duties include help in operation of instrumentation
in the lab and at field locations, data analyses, and proposal development.
The initial appointment is for two years, and is renewable depending on
performance and the continued availability of funds. The anticipated start
date is Spring, 2008.
