Description: STEM CELL SCIENCE or STEM CELL MEDICINE
  The UCSD Stem Cell Program at the University of California, San Diego is seeking to recruit an assistant, associate, or full professor who conducts strongly interdisciplinary research in stem cell science or stem cell medicine. This faculty position will be available
in Fall 2010.
  The Program seeks candidates who will establish independent and vigorous extramurally funded research programs in stem cell biology, biochemistry, medicine, engineering, or other fields related to stem cell science, with innovative approaches and expertise in more than one discipline. Candidates should have a track record of publications in internationally recognized journals, and a willingness to participate in graduate and undergraduate teaching. Applicants must possess a PhD or MD degree.
  The UCSD Stem Cell Program is an interdisciplinary and collaborative research and teaching program focused on using stem cells to understand basic biology and the causes and treatment of human disease. The Program seeks to improve human health by fostering innovation and collaboration and by providing mentoring and frequent opportunities for cross-disciplinary interaction among faculty. The successful applicants will have appointments in one or more home departments on the UCSD general campus, health sciences, or Scripps Institute of Oceanography.

Salary: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and based on UCSD pay scales.
