About Academic Employee Relations
The Academic Employee Relations Office is responsible
for:
- Proactive
problem solving with academic departments and divisions and
collaboratively managing ongoing faculty cases.
- Advising
departments regarding faculty discipline and investigations
of wrongdoing.
- Developing
and administering policies pertaining to academic
grievances, layoffs, and misconduct.
- Consulting
with faculty and academic administrators on academic
employee relations matters. Facilitating informal
mediation and negotiations with the Senior Vice Chancellor
for Academic Affairs to resolve academic employee concerns.
- Responding
to charges files with external state and federal agencies.
- Partnering
on disciplinary cases with related offices: Campus
Counsel, Sexual Harassment Prevention and Policy, Ombuds,
Academic Senate, and Faculty and Staff Assistance Program.
