The Dean of Biological Sciences is the academic and administrative leader of the Biological Sciences Division, comprised of four academic sections: Molecular Biology; Cell and Developmental Biology; Ecology, Behavior and Evolution; and Neurobiology. As a key member of the University's leadership, the Dean reports directly to the Senior Vice Chancellor-Academic Affairs and represents the Division at the campus, local, state, national, and international levels.

Successful candidates should have prior experience in academic administration and must have a distinguished record of scholarship, teaching, and service appropriate for appointment as a tenured senior professor. The Dean will hold the Richard C. Atkinson Chair in the Biological Sciences and will be appointed to serve at 100% time for a five-year term, renewable following appropriate review.
