UC Reaches Tentative Contract Agreement with Service Employees' Union - University of California officials announced that UC reached a tentative agreement with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees on a new, five-year labor contract for UC's more than 8,000 service employees. [1-28-09] CONEXIS FSA Website Now Updated - In response to UC employee problems accessing the CONEXIS website for the new Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), CONEXIS has updated the website to support additional browsers.[1-27-09] Information for UC employees about 2008-09 systemwide salary increases - The University will not be able to offer systemwide salary increases to employees, and UC will need to defer progress on changes to the faculty salary scales for 2008-09 (wages for union-represented employees are subject to collective bargaining, and obligatory merit increases for faculty will follow UC policy). [10-22-08] START Program Now Available - In order to help UC cope with anticipated budget cuts, the University is implementing a new Staff and Academic Reduction in Time (START) Program, a temporary voluntary time reduction program, to achieve salary savings.[6-20-08] UC Regents Approve Plans to Trim Enrollment, Freeze SMG Pay - Acting on the recommendation of University of California President Mark G. Yudof, the UC Board of Regents approved plans curtailing undergraduate enrollment growth, and freezing the salaries of top administrators and significantly restricting compensation for a large group of senior leadership. [1-14-09] Annual Statements for UCRP and CAP Available Online - Employees with a UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) balance and/or the Capital Accumulation Provision (CAP) balance can now view annual statements on At Your Service Online (AYSO). [1-15-09] CAP Account Distribution to Non-Vested Inactive UCRP Members - The University is currently making an effort to locate non-vested inactive members of the UC Retirement Plan who have balances in their Capital Accumulation Provision (CAP) accounts so that they may receive a distribution or rollover the money from these accounts.[1-7-09] 2009 Annual Contribution Limits for 403(b) and 457(b) Plans Announced - The Maximum Annual Contribution Limit for UC's 403(b) Plan and/or 457(b) Plan will increase to $16,500. The limit for those age 50 or older in 2009 will increase to $22,000. [9-12-08] Marjorie Hardy Receives 2007 Betsy Faught Award - Congratulations to Marjorie Hardy, Business Officer of the department of Chemistry and Bicohemistry, who has been named the recipient of the 2008 Betsy Faught Award. The Award recognizes excellence and outstanding achievement in the management of General Campus academic units, and honors the memory of Betsy Faught, an exceptional department manager who adeptly and skillfully managed an academic program at UCSD for more than twenty years. All university employees, including student employees, are required to take the briefing, either online or through a scheduled in-person class. Those required to take the training will receive an email containing instructions and a personalized link to the thirty-minute briefing.
