REPOSTING A POSITION: MINIMUM AMOUNT OF TIME
To ensure UC San Diego maintains its equal opportunity employment and fair employment status which requires equal access to open positions; if a position is requested to be reposted the length of time it will have to be reposted is listed below. Please make your hiring supervisors are aware of this time so they can plan accordingly.

 

GENERAL REPOST (No changes)

  1. Posting is all the same - It must remain open for a minimum of five business days. All qualified applicants will then be referred after the fifth day to allow for fair consideration of all applicants who apply. (1 week).

REPOST WITH CHANGES

  1. Changes in the percent of time (i.e. 100% to 50% or any combination) - It must remain open for a minimum of five business days. All qualified applicants will then be referred after the fifth day to allow for fair consideration of all applicants who apply. (1 week).

  2. Major Changes to the Qualifications or Job Description - It must remain open for a minimum of ten business days to allow for fair consideration of all applicants who apply. (2 weeks)

Monster.com is now $250 per posting versus $575 (57% savings)
National and local exposure for your job opening. This site is considered one of the premier sites to post job advertisements. Monster.com is routinely ranked one or two for attracting qualified applicants for all levels and classifications of positions.

 

InsideHigherEd.com is now $55 per posting versus $250 (78% savings)
Online source for news, opinion and jobs for all of higher education. Readership is from professors to individuals who chose a career in higher education. A powerful suite of tools to help higher education professionals get jobs and colleges identify and hire employees.

 

CareerBuilder.com is now $308 per posting versus $519 (41% savings)
National and local exposure for your job openings. This site consistently competes with Monster.com as the top job posting site in the nation. Careerbuilder.com is a great site to use for all levels and classifications of positions. The added bonus with posting with CareerBuilder.com your job will automatically be posted with their diverse partners websites. There are currently 88 diverse partners websites with a focus on job searching ranging from awomansresource.com to youngandblack.net. Complete listing of diverse partners websites.

 

IMDiversity.com is now $45 per posting versus $300 (85% savings)
IMDiversity.com is the premier diversity job seekers website. This site is dedicated to providing job postings, career and self-development information to all minorities, specifically African Americans, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, Latino/Hispanic Americans, Native Americans and women in all job professions.

 

Urban League of San Diego County is now $35 per posting versus $150 (77% savings)
The Urban League of San Diego County’s career website’s mission is to assist African Americans and other underserved people in San Diego County to achieve social and economic equality through employment.

 

LOCAL PRINT PUBLICATIONS such as Asian Journal, Enlace and San Diego Voice & Viewpoint have also been drastically reduced. (Most under $350 versus $500+) Please contact your Sr. Employment Advisor if you are interested in print ads.
