invites applications for a position in the Sociology of Inequality broadly
conceived beginning July 1, 2009. The position will be at the Associate
Professor (tenured) or Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level and, pending
budgetary approval, an appointment at the Full Professor (tenured) level is
also possible, so we welcome applications from senior scholars. The
Department is searching for someone with strong quantitative skills, willing
and able to contribute regularly to teaching quantitative methods to
graduate students and contribute to the department's inequalities cluster.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree (or ABD) and will be expected to teach
and supervise both undergraduate and graduate students, conduct an
extramurally funded research program, and participate in administrative
functions of the department and the University. Candidates must show
evidence of a strong research record in their area of specialization.
