Workshop on Developing and Assessing Learning Objectives

The purpose of the workshop is to help departments, programs (that offer majors), and colleges develop a document that:

  • articulates learning objectives for their majors/students,
  • indicates how progress is measured in meeting these objectives, and
  • explains how the information is used by the program to improve the curriculum.

Most of you will recognize this workshop as a way for us to move forward in preparing ourselves for reaffirmation of accreditation by WASC. Our timeline for developing learning objectives and assessments for each major is tight. By late February we hope each department and program will have a draft of their document.
